Act Like a Lady, Smell Like a Man: 10 New Pro Perfumes
Posted on January 3, 2012 by Lena & Jules
The 2011 numbers are in and they prove that we all want to smell like celebrities. Elizabeth Taylor led the year with $54M in sales for her classic White Diamonds scent. But you will never guess who scored the number two spot – Derek Jeter. Jeter’s scent “Driven” outsold Jessica Simpson, Beyonce and Katy Perry’s fragrances by a landslide.
Marketers claim that scents for men are usually bought buy their wives and girlfriends, and in the case of Derek Jeter, Forbes says “it has more to do with his persona than his baseball skills”. It would seem unbelievable that so many women would be that enthralled by the persona of Derek Jeter to want their men to smell like him.
Now men everywhere are stepping out of the shower and spritzing on a layer of “Driven” in hopes of hitting one out of the boardroom or taking home a Charlie’s Angel. Whatever floats your boat guys. If it’s going to inspire him to strive for excellence, go for it. But when considering a signature smell for the new year, here are 10 new pro perfumes we are looking forward to in 2012:
